Vavá tocou para Eder, que dentro da área arriscou e acertou o canto do goleiro Jefferson, colocando a equipe gaúcha na frente mais uma vez.
​OCaxias ainda ampliou a vantagem com Júnior Alves eo lateral Vavá driblou o adversário e de perna direita chutou no canto, marcando um golaço e dando números finais a partida.

As duas equipes voltam a se enfrentar, no próximo sábado, às 15h, no Laranjão, no Rio de Janeiro.

​A URT voltou melhor no segundo tempo e pressionou os visitantes. Aos 25 minutos a recompensa, o meia-atacante Rafael Oller, que tinha acabado de entrar, empatou para os donos de casa. Porém aos aos 44 minutos, Matheus Barcelos dominou dentro da área, girou e bateu sem chances para Marcão dando números finais ao jogo 2 a 1 para o Macaé, que assumiu a liderança do grupo isolado.

Lasith Malinga, the Sri Lankan fast bowler, has given up Test cricket because of a “long-standing degenerative condition in the right knee”. He intends to continue playing the shorter formats, though, and hopes to play in the 2012 World Twenty20 and the 2015 World Cup.Malinga, 27, made himself unavailable for the upcoming Test tour of England citing his fitness problems, but has been playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Sri Lanka Cricket asked him to return home and undergo a rehabilitation programme, but Malinga has now clarified that his condition stops him from playing only the longest format.”Although I am sufficiently fit to play both ODI and T20 cricket, I have a long-standing degenerative condition in my right knee that needs to be carefully managed,” Malinga’s statement read. “The condition relates directly to the chronic knee injury I sustained playing for Sri Lanka in Australia back in February 2008, an injury that prevented me from playing ODI cricket for 16 months.”The injury was a career-threatening injury and my orthopaedic surgeon was of the opinion that given his experience with other professional athletes in Australia I was very fortunate to play again. I have since been advised by the national team physiotherapist and my orthopaedic consultant that my condition will deteriorate when fielding or bowling for prolonged periods.”I did try to return to Test cricket after a three-year absence last year [against India] following requests from the team management and the selectors, but it left me unfit nursing severe knee pain for two months.”I have realised that the heavy workload of Test cricket, which requires a fast bowler to be able to bowl more than 15 overs, sometimes on consecutive days, could lead to permanent injury. I have carefully considered my options and have decided that not playing Test cricket will help me achieve my goal of representing Sri Lanka in the 2012 World Twenty20 and the 2015 World Cup.”Malinga said he was available for all limited-overs internationals, and planned to travel to Sri Lanka soon to discuss his plans with the selectors.Since his debut in July 2004, Malinga has played only 30 Tests and 84 ODIs. His slingshot round-arm action and focus on pace put a lot of strain on his body, and he was forced to miss several games. His career seemed to have stalled after the Galle Test against England in December 2007, but he returned for the series against India mid-2010. It was, however, a false dawn on his stop-start Test career.

O feriado do Dia do Trabalho desta terça-feira foi de muito treino no Complexo Esportivo de São Januário. Os jogadores do Vasco, nesta manhã, fizeram a última atividade antes do jogo decisivo pela Conmebol Libertadores diante do Cruzeiro, que será disputado às 21h45 desta quarta-feira. A imprensa não teve acesso ao treino e em entrevista coletiva o técnico Zé Ricardo fez alguns mistérios relacionados sobre quem vai a campo na quinta rodada do grupo 5 da competição internacional.

O único desfalque do Vasco para a partida é o volante Leandro Desábato. No último jogo da Libertadores, diante do Racing, da Argentina, o argentino acabou sendo expulso e terá de cumprir suspensão. Para seu lugar, a expectativa é a da entrada de Bruno Silva – ele treinou na última segunda-feira na posição. Porém, Zé Ricardo não confirmou a entrada dele. Afirmou que testou as possibilidades com Andrey e Fabrício como substituto de Desábato e escolherá o titular somente horas antes de a bola rolar.

The Sri Lankan cricketers playing in the 2011 IPL have been asked to report to Colombo by May 5 to prepare for the tour of England. The squad is due to depart for England on May 10 whereas the IPL goes on until May 28.”For the past two months or so they [the Sri Lankan players] have been playing one-day and T20 cricket and it is time they switched on to playing the longer game,” said Duleep Mendis, who replaced Aravinda de Silva as the new chairman of selectors after the World Cup. “The first half of the English summer is not going to be easy and we want the players to report for training and to concentrate on getting used to the change of playing white balls to red.”Eleven Sri Lankan cricketers are involved in the IPL, including Tillakaratne Dilshan, who is likely to lead Sri Lanka in England after Kumar Sangakkara resigned after the World Cup. Dilshan plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore along with fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep.Former captains Sangakkara (Deccan Chargers) and Mahela Jayawardene (Kochi Tuskers), Suraj Randiv and Nuwan Kulasekara (Chennai Super Kings), Dilhara Fernando and Lasith Mallinga (Mumbai Indians), Angelo Mathews (Pune Warriors) and Muttiah Muralitharan and Thisara Perera (Kochi Tuskers) are the other Sri Lankan players in IPL.Sri Lanka begin their tour of England on May 14 and play three Tests, five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 international.

وتابع مدرب تشيلسي: “في أي هدف يكون لديك شعور أنه يمكنك القيام بعمل أفضل قليلاً ولكن عليك أن تنسب الفضل إلى مانشستر سيتي”.

واستطرد: “لا يمكننا الشكوى من ذلك [قائمة الإصابات] علينا فقط مواكبة الأمر، قدم الأولاد على أرض الملعب كل شيء وفعلوا ما طلبناه منهم ومانشستر سيتي لا يمنحك الكثير”.

وأفاد بوتر: “كان علينا تجديد الأمر، لكن لويس هال وهاتشينسون لاعبان شابان في البداية وقدم كونور جالاجر كل شيء، كان من الجيد أن تكون لديك تلك الشخصية من مقاعد البدلاء”.

وأكد: “لكن بشكل عام الإيجابيات موجودة، لقد أحببت الفريق، كان رد فعل الجمهور جيدًا، لكننا نشعر بخيبة أمل لعدم حصولنا على أي نقاط”.

وواصل حين سُئل عن الثنائي المصاب: “من السابق لأوانه الحديث عن الإصابات، شعر رحيم ستيرلينج بذلك في الدقيقة الأولى من المباراة، وبعد ذلك مع كريستيان بوليسيتش، نأمل ألا يكون الأمر خطيرًا للغاية”.

وأتم بوتر: “لا توجد أخبار انتقالات جديدة ولكن هناك دائمًا أخبار وتكهنات، إلى أن يتواجدوا هنا، لا يوجد شيء آخر للتعليق عليه”.

Chennai Super Kings’ powerful batting line-up spoiled Shane Warne’s first game since announcing his retirement and left Rajasthan Royals needing at least two wins from their remaining matches to qualify for the play-offs. Chennai’s top four all played their part to set up the win that pushed their side to 14 points, one victory away from virtually sealing their spot in the play-offs.There was some controversy ahead of the game as Warne said Rajasthan were forced to change the pitch on which the match was played. It proved to be a surface that wasn’t the typical slow-and-low Jaipur track, the sort on which Rajasthan have built their intimidating home record. Instead, it was a quicker pitch that favoured stroke-making, more suited to Chennai’s bruising top order.Michael Hussey provided the initial impetus as M Vijay took his time to find his range. It was the usual unfussy innings from Hussey. He relied on power-hits only for the rare heaves to midwicket, otherwise it was more about touch and placement. There was a reverse-sweep off Ashok Maneria, and plenty of eye-catching drives through the off side. Just as the man averaging above 50 in the IPL seemed set for another half-century, he was foxed by Johan Botha’s full delivery. Hussey looked to dispatch it over to short midwicket boundary and was bowled.While Hussey was scoring at a strike-rate nearly 200, Vijay was initially cautious after three failures. It would have been a fourth flop if Ajinkya Rahane had caught a chance in the fourth over at backward point. Soon after the reprieve Vijay showed signs of the destroyer of 2010, with his favourite lofts over the leg side making a regular appearance. All his boundaries – three sixes and two fours – were in the arc from square leg to long-on, a couple came perilously close to the knocking over the redesigned IPL trophy.With Suresh Raina regularly finding the cover boundary and Vijay muscling a half-century, Chennai galloped to 117 for 1 in 13 overs. During their stand, the most likely mode of dismissal seemed to be a run-out. There was plenty of confused calling and lazy running, and they escaped several times before a dawdling Vijay was caught out by a direct hit from Botha.There was no let-up even after that dismissal as MS Dhoni came out blazing. He thrashed Siddharth Trivedi onto the roof of the first tier for his first six before unleashing a series of shots that powered Chennai close to 200. In between, Dhoni also pushed his team-mates to race between the wickets, pressurising the Rajasthan fielders and picking off extra runs.The outfield was extremely quick and there was a short square boundary, but Rajasthan still needed either Shane Watson or Ross Taylor to play a blinder to pull off the chase. Neither did, and that killed Rajasthan’s challenge. After Rahul Dravid fell for a chancy 20, Watson holed out in the sixth over, attempting his trademark slog-sweep. Taylor was gone two overs later, lashing a full delivery from Albie Morkel to deep point, which left them at 63 for 3. Ajinkya Rahane unfurled a series of boundaries to reach his second Twenty20 half-century, but that proved too little to curb the spiralling asking-rate, and Chennai walked to a 63-run victory.

I’ve shown I can open the batting and I can bat down at No.6 as well.”Though he has seldom opened the batting for his state in first-class cricket, 27-year-old Marsh has done the job for Australia at limited overs level, and over the past four summers has slowly improved his Sheffield Shield record, which has lagged well below the level generally required of Test batting aspirants.Since the 2007-08 season that saw his first elevation to the fringes of the Australian limited overs squad and ensured stop-start Shield appearances since, Marsh has tallied 1,721 domestic first-class runs at an average of 52.15 (as against a career mean of 37.97), generally batting in the top four.He has also been severely hampered by hamstring injuries during that time, but believes he is now ready.”It is tough. I’ve probably had three major injuries now, all playing for Australia in the one-day series,” Marsh said.”It does take a lot out of you. I thought after I did the last one, my opportunity was slipping away, but I’m back on the contract list now and I’m really looking forward to the next 12 months.”I know if I can stay on the park and play some good cricket, hopefully I’ll get an opportunity back in the green and gold and grab it with both hands.”
