Newcastle are optimistic that Javier Manquillo’s injury is ‘not too serious’, according to The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope.

In the journalist’s own words, the Spaniard is the ‘likely deputy’ to Kieran Trippier at right-back, and the £12m January signing from Atletico Madrid faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after fracturing a bone in his foot in Sunday’s win over Aston Villa.

The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder called it a ‘hammer blow’ for the Magpies, while Dean Jones said it was a ‘disaster’, and lightning appeared to strike twice for Eddie Howe’s team as Manquillo was also forced off against the Villans.

Hope took to Twitter to provide the latest on Manquillo’s knock at the weekend, offering a note of cautious optimism that it may not be an extensive injury.

The journalist outlined: “Trippier’s likely deputy is Javier Manquillo. He, too, went off injured on Sunday & Howe feared ankle ligament damage. More results are awaited but word this morning was that there is hope it’s not too serious.”

The verdict

It remains to be seen whether Manquillo will be fit to travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham United on Saturday. If that match comes too soon, Howe may need to turn to Emil Krafth to fill the right-back slot.

However, there are concerns over whether the Swede is really good enough to be playing consistently at this level. Indeed, Ian Wright has described him as ‘out of his depth’, while WhoScored rank him among Newcastle’s poorest performers this season, with an average rating of just 6.33/10.

Therefore, the Magpies will be banking on hearing good news about Manquillo, as they are already without six players aside from him, namely Trippier, Federico Fernandez (thigh), Isaac Hayden, Matt Ritchie (both knee), Callum Wilson (calf) and Jamal Lewis (groin).

In other news, Newcastle have enquired about this soon to be out-of-contract defender.

A impugnação aconteceu porque Paulo Garcia realizou o pagamento da anistia para regularizar sócios. Na ocasião, ele admitiu ter feito pagamentos. A Comissão Eleitoral entendeu haver compra de votos.

Por conta da polêmica, a Comissão Eleitoral já havia vetado sócio regularizado com anistia de votar na eleição. A anistia foi vista pelo oposição como manobra ilegal, já que o estatuto do clube proíbe qualquer anistia financeira a partir de 12 meses antes da eleição.

Sem Paulo Garcia, o Corinthians agora tem quatro candidatos a presidente: Andrés Sanchez, Antonio Roque Citadini, Felipe Ezabella e Romeu Tuma Júnior.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to send opener Tamim Iqbal to Australia for a check-up as he has been experiencing lingering pain in his wrist following an injury he sustained last year. Tamim returned to bat last Monday after a long break but complained there still was pain in his left hand and that he was not feeling good when batting.”He will go to Australia as soon as he gets the visa. We have decided to send him to Australia for check-up because we thought he will at least be mentally satisfied,” Enayet Hossain Siraj, a BCB official, told . “We took the decision after discussing the matter with our physio (Michael Henry).”Tamim suffered the injury during an ODI in Chittagong against Zimbabwe on November 5 last year. Subsequent scans revealed a hairline fracture. Despite being advised against batting during practice or matches, Tamim continued to play, further aggravating the injury during a domestic match. He fought the pain barrier to play in the Lord’s Test against England, despite struggling with the injury throughout the tour.

The Verdict: Blow for Ange’s squad depth

With all due respect to Forrest, who has been a wonderful servant for Celtic, the Hoops should be able to get past St Johnstone without requiring his services, given their 11th-placed position.

They did exactly that at Rangers last weekend, producing an impressive performance, and they have got by without the 30-year-old since his last appearance in mid-March.

However, Forrest’s title-winning experience in the final weeks of the season could still be pivotal, with nine league titles and six Scottish Cups standing him in good stead.

Without the 30 year-old, who is the only out and out right-midfielder in Ange’s squad, the manager will need to rely on wingers like Liel Abada to fill in and do their defensive duties with diligence.

Antes de entregar o uniforme ao meia-atacante, que foi emprestado pelo Inter até dezembro, Raí destacou que o Tricolor é capaz de recuperar o potencial de Valdívia. – Venho trabalhando forte. No ano passado, tive uma temporada muito boa, mas gols não saíram. Na minha função tática, fui bem. É trabalhar, pensar positivo, só mentalizar coisas boas que fiz e tenho qualidade para fazer. No São Paulo, tenho certeza de que vai dar certo, um ano diferente para mim e para o São Paulo. É a primeira vez que fico mais ansioso, não vejo a hora de estrear – explicou.

– A lesão atrapalhou, mas não caí como falam. Os gols não saíram, isso pode ser cobrado. Sou brincalhão fora de campo, mas sou Valdívia porque sempre fiz por merecer dentro das quatro linhas. Sou acostumado a fazer golaço,e es á difícil fazer gol feio. Mas vou tentar fazer gol feio – sorriu, ciente de que viveu altos e baixos e precisa retomar seu auge na carreira.

– É muito difícil dizer. As coisas acontecem muito rápido. estou no sexto na carreira e já aconteceu de tudo, já foi lá em cima, já fui o “pokopika”, depois tive lesão, e, hoje, estou no meio, junto com o São Paulo, um clube muito grande. Será um ano diferente para mim e para o São Paulo. Vou me doar ao máximo, com tudo que já fiz. A confiança que a diretoria passou é importante. Na diretoria, tem pessoas que jogaram futebol, fica mais fácil, entendem nosso lado, só que a cobrança é até maior, ficam mais perto. Preciso estar bem. Vim um pouco desacreditado, mas comissão técnica, diretoria e jogadores confiam, e também confio, isso que importa. Agora é ser feliz.

Objetivos na carreira
Meu objetivo é pensar onde estou e o que o clube precisa, e eu também. Preciso de gols e jogar. Não vou chegar jogando, tem disputa sadia, e clube precisa de títulos. Espero ajudar muito. Nem penso lá na frente. Penso hoje, na partida que vem, e a cada partida ir melhorando. No final do ano, penso a longo prazo. É fazer o futebol que pretendo fazer aqui, dar o meu melhor, porque as coisas vão aparecer. Não dá para pensar lá na frente no futebol. É pensar hoje e deixar acontecer.

Não chegar jogando
É treinar, né? Jogador que estiver bem, pelo que entendo, vai jogar. Vou chegar, estou treinando bem, bem confiante com companheiros. É brigar pelo meu espaço, abaixar a cabeça e trabalhar. Quando as coisas estão erradas, é trabalhar para dar certo. fazendo isso, vai dar certo.

Aval de Dorival
Mais responsabilidade, mas mais confiança para desenvolver bom futebol, que todos já viram. Mas não quer dizer que vou jogar. Ele pediu e vou ter de mostrar que estou bem para jogar.

O juizLuis Mário Mori Domingues, da 7ª Vara Cível de Campinas, derrubou parcialmentea determinação de torcida única nos jogos da Ponte Preta em 2018. A liminar expedida pelo magistrado vai de encontro à solicitação do Ministério Público e à decisão da Federação Paulista de Futebol, para evitar incidentes. Depois da confusão envolvendo os pontepretanos, no rebaixamento para a Série B, no ano passado, o MP fez o pedido para que as partidas só tivessem um tipo de torcida.

Com a nova determinação, os torcedores da Ponte Preta estão liberados para acompanhar o time fora de casa, assim os visitantes também podem acessar o Majestoso, com exceção dos jogos contra os quatro grandes do estado (Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo e Santos) e os dérbis com o Guarani.

Por cautela, o juiz manteve a proibição nos jogos contra os grandes e também nos dérbis, mas fez questão de enfatizar que considera a medida da Federação Paulista de Futebol, desproporcional, “ao restringir o direito de todos torcedores comparecerem ao estádio, sem fundamento jurídico, sem processo legal”.

Em seu despacho, Domingues alega que a competência de punição em relação aos fatos ocorridos diante do Vitória, no Brasileirão do ano passado, com invasão de campo, é do Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD) e não do Ministério Público ou da Federação Paulista de Futebol.

A Federação Paulista de Futebol ainda pode recorrer. Se não houver nenhuma reviravolta até lá, a torcida da Ponte já poderá acompanhar a equipe longe de Campinas no próximo domingo, quando a Macaca visita o Mirassol.

A ação na justiça foi proposta por um grupo de torcedores da Macaca, sob a liderança de Giovanni Dimarzio, ex-vice-presidente do clube alvinegro. A posição da Ponte sobre o assunto é que, como não é parte da ação e não teve acesso a ela de maneira oficial, não irá se manifestar no momento.
