Rangers are still interested in signing former Ibrox youngster Billy Gilmour on loan this summer, in what could be an exciting move for Steven Gerrard and Gers fans.

The Lowdown: Gilmour shines for Chelsea

The 20-year-old has enjoyed an impressive rise at Stamford Bridge, ending last season as a European champion, following the Blues’ Champions League triumph.

Gilmour also shone for Scotland in their 0-0 draw against England at Euro 2020 last weekend, arguably producing a Man of the Match performance at Wembley.

According to the Daily Record, Gerrard is keen on taking the midfielder to Rangers on loan this summer, with Chelsea willing to let him leave on a temporary basis.

It would allow him regular first-team football, with Thomas Tuchel unable to promise him that currently, despite his talent.

The Verdict: Exciting summer addition

If Rangers manage to bring Gilmour in for the 2021/22 season, it could be a hugely exciting move, given his displays for club and country.

He is a footballer of great promise, showing immense composure with a 90.9 percent pass completion rate against England in the biggest game of his career, and he could flourish developing under a midfield great in Gerrard.

It could help take the Gers to another level next season – Gilmour was hailed as ‘magnificent’ by Scotland captain Andy Robertson last week – as they look to secure back-t0-back Scottish Premiership titles

It would also be beneficial to Chelsea – their young talent could earn some Champions League experience which he wouldn’t get with a loan to a lower Premier League side.

وكانت تقارير صحفية فرنسية قد كشفت الأسبوع الماضي، أن ماكرون سيتدخل للضغط مع إدارة باريس سان جيرمان من أجل إقناع مبابي بالبقاء في “حديقة الأمراء”.

وقال ماكرون في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية: “لسوء الحظ لا يُمكنني التحدث عن انتقال كيليان مبابي إلى أولمبيك مارسيليا”.

وتابع: “إن كان مبابي على استعداد للانضمام إلى مارسيليا كنت سأقاتل لتحقيق ذلك، لكنه قال الأمر ليس بهذه السرعة”.

وأتم: “لذا من الأفضل أن يقاتل ليبقى في الدوري الفرنسي، كيليان مبابي لا يزال لاعبًا جيدًا ورائعًا”.

Celtic have begun talks with Hajduk Split over a move for defender Mario Vuskovic, according to The Scottish Sun.

The Lowdown: Vuskovic profiled

Vuskovic is 19 years of age and is valued at £5.85m by Transfermarkt. He has six caps for Croatia at Under-21 level and has already racked up 44 appearances at club level for Hajduk Split.

Primarily a centre-back, Vuskovic can also play as a defensive midfielder and a right-back and stands at 6ft 2.

His current contract runs until 2024, but reports have suggested that Split chiefs have decided to cash in on the teenager this summer.

The Scottish Sun lead with a title that the Hoops are closing in on the Hajduk Split star.

Postecoglou’s appointment and Wednesday arrival in Glasgow has sparked Celtic into action.

A £5m fee was touted in the report, adding that Vuskovic could now become Postecoglou’s first signing as Celtic boss.

Hoops scouts know all about Vuskovic after watching him on multiple occasions last season, and it seems as if the new Celtic manager is happy for a move to materialise.

The Verdict: A much-needed addition

Central defensive additions appear to be required at Parkhead, so the potential arrival of Vuskovic could ease Postecoglou’s centre-back worries.

Kristoffer Ajer has made it clear he wants to leave Celtic this summer, so should he seal a move away, that would leave Postecoglou with Stephen Welsh and the injured Christopher Julien as the club’s only senior options.

That isn’t exactly ideal, especially with a Champions League qualifier a month away, so it could be handy to get defensive reinforcements through the door as soon as possible.

It seems as if that is what the Hoops are trying to do with Vuskovic, and if the latest update is anything to go by, they have a real chance of bringing him to Scotland.
