According to The Daily Mail, CSKA Moscow have been scouting Sunderland striker Charlie Wyke recently.

Wyke has been in fantastic form for the Black Cats so far this campaign, netting 26 goals in all competitions (Transfermarkt). His 22 strikes in League One have only been bettered by Peterborough’s Jonson Clarke-Harris (BBC).

As per The Daily Mail, that has led to the 13-time Russian champions scouting the English third division’s top two goalscorers.

Surprise

This is no doubt a surprise link – it is rare that players from the English lower tiers attract interest from clubs in Russia. However, Wyke’s form in front of goal this season means he is deserving of such a pursuit. At 28 years old, it is unlikely he will ever get a better chance to join a side that regularly competes in either the Europa League or Champions League.

Surprisingly, though, his departure may well go down well with the Black Cats supporters. When the news broke, the supporters were quick to share their thoughts, and many suggested they would be happy to see him leave. It seems that, while he clearly knows where the back of the net is, his overall footballing ability leaves a lot to be desired even after amassing 36 career assists, and some are worried whether he would be able to cope with the demands of the Championship if Sunderland earn promotion.

If the club were able to strike a good agreement for Wyke, it could be a welcome move for all involved, handing the Black Cats some cash to reinvest into the squad and granting Wyke the chance to play in European competition.

أشاد المدرب الألماني يورجن كلوب، المدير الفني لنادي ليفربول، بالوافد الجديد للريدز، البرتغالي لويس دياز، مؤكدًا أنه من المُبكر أن يشارك على الفور مع الفريق، بعد مُضي أيام قليلة على انضمامه.

ليفربول نجح في ضم دياز من بورتو، مقابل 45 مليون يورو، بعد منافسة مع توتنهام هوتسبير وبعقد طويل الأمد حتى 30 يونيو 2027.

وقال كلوب خلال المؤتمر الصحفي الخاص بمواجهة كارديف سيتي: “لويس؟ دعني أقول شيئًا عنه، إذا كان سيأتي الآن، يخطو على أرض الملعب وسيكون على الفور في أفضل حالاته ويلعب بشكل أفضل من الآخرين، فسيكون ذلك غريبًا فعلًا”.

وأضاف: “لأن أي لاعب بحاجة إلى وقت من أجل التكيف، هذا لا يعني أنني أقول بأنه بحاجة إلى أربعة أو خمسة أشهر، ولكن لم أره حتى الآن، لم يتدرب معنا بعد، لذا ربما يجب أن أنتظر قليلًا”.

وواصل:” نحن سعداء ومتحمسون حقًا بشأن الصفقة، إنها مجرد علامة جيدة حقًا أننا نعمل على جميع الجبهات لتحسين هذا الفريق”.

وتابع: “نحن علينا أن نكون ناجحين الآن وفي المُستقبل، حتى يتمكن من المساعدة في كليهما، لقد تعاقدنا معه، لأننا نحب كل شيء عنه إلى حد كبير، هكذا هو الأمر، لقد تابعته الآن لفترة، ليس فقط لأننا لعبنا معهم مرتين في دوري الأبطال”.

واسترسل: “أنا سعيد للغاية لأننا تعاقدنا معه، سيدخل مع الفريق وآمل أن يتمكن من مساعدتنا، هو واحد من لاعبي فريقي الآن، وأنا لا يُمكنني الانتظار للترحيب به ثم بدء العمل معه”.

وعن صفقة فابيو كارفاليو وفشل انتقاله إلى ليفربول: “لا أدري ما سيحدث، من الواضح أننا ما زلنا مهتمين به، ولكن الأمر ليس في أيدينا في الوقت الحالي”.

ليفربول كان اتفق مع فولهام بالفعل حول صفقة كارفاليو، مقابل رسوم مالية تصل إلى 10 ملايين يورو، على أن يقضي اللاعب الفترة المتبقية من الموسم الحالي على سبيل الإعارة في صفوف ناديه، ولكن النادي لم يتمكن من إتمام الصفقة قبل نهاية سوق الانتقالات.

وعن سياسة واستراتيجية ليفربول في سوق الانتقالات، أجاب: “استراتيجيتنا هي التعاقد مع اللاعبين المناسبين في اللحظة المناسبة”.

وأكمل: “هل هناك فريق أنفق 200 مليون جنيه إسترليني في نافذة واحدة؟ نحن نحاول أن نكون على دراية بكل شيء، مثل العقود وموقف اللاعبين وهذه الأشياء”.

واسترسل: “هذا الفريق أحد أكثر الفرق نجاحًا في تاريخ ليفربول، ولكننا لن نفوت أبدًا إلقاء نظرة إلى الأمام، هذا بالضبط ما نقوم به”.

According to reports from Germany, the Southampton manager, Ralph Hasenhuttl, is attracting the interest of the Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich.

The report by Munich based newspaper Tz (via Sport Witness) claims that, with Hans-Dieter Flick’s future at Bayern looking increasingly uncertain, the German side are beginning to consider options to replace the 56-year-old this summer.

And, despite the RB Leipzig manager, Julian Nagelsmann, being stated as the favourite to replace Flick, second on the list of Tz is Hasenhuttl, with the paper explaining that the Saints boss is “no stranger to Bayern” after spending time with the club’s B-team in the early 2000’s.

Furthermore, Tz claim that the Bayern hierarchy appreciate Hasenhuttl’s philosophy and playing style, and believe that the 53-year-old would be a “good match” for the club, however, it is also mentioned that the Austrian’s lack of silverware could be a problem, with the report finally giving Hasenhuttl a 15 per cent chance of landing the job at the Allianz Arena.

Transfer Tavern Take

While it can easily be assumed that Nagelsmann would be Bayern’s first choice to replace Flick, with the Leipzig manager denying that any talks have taken place with Munich regarding the position, perhaps there is a genuine cause for concern among Southampton fans about losing Hasenhuttl this summer.

With it not even being certain that Flick will be leaving the Bundesliga side at the end of the season, Saints fans should not worry too much about the prospect of losing their manager, for now, but if the vacancy is there come summer it will surely be tempting.

Despite a couple of humiliating defeats under his watch, we suspect Saints fans will be desperate for the club to ward off Bayern’s approach, if and when it arrives.

O São Paulo encerrou a preparação para o clássico contra o Santos, nesta quinta-feira, com um treino no Pacaembu na manhã desta quarta. O técnico Ricardo Gomes trabalhou a parte tática no palco da partida e manteve dúvidas para armar o time, principalmente no ataque. A atividade foi fechada para a imprensa.

Assim como o peruano Cueva, ele seguirá direto para a concentração tricolor no CT.

Ainda é possível que Ricardo Gomes utilize Carlinhos na lateral esquerda, a depender da situação de Mena, mas o camisa 6, hoje, agrada mais jogando do meio para a frente. Ele pode ser mantido na ponta esquerda, também a depender de como Cueva retornará, já que ele jogou toda a partida pelo Peru. O atacante Robson também foi testado durante a semana e corre por fora por uma vaga no ataque. Neste caso, seria uma opção para o lugar de Kelvin, que joga aberto pela direita.

No meio, Ricardo Gomes deve promover o retorno de Wesley, que cumpriu suspensão contra o Sport na última rodada. Assim, a provável formação do São Paulo para o clássico é: Denis, Buffarini, Maicon, Rodrigo Caio e Mena; Hudson, Thiago Mendes, Wesley, Kelvin (Robson) e Carlinhos (Cueva); Chavez.

O treino no Pacaembu também serviu para os jogadores aperfeiçoarem chutes de perto e longe, cobranças de faltas e pênaltis. O Tricolor tenta se reabilitar após quatro jogos sem vitória. At the turn of the year, everything looked rather rosy for Sunderland.

They had just welcomed a new owner in Kyril Louis-Dreyfus to the club while Lee Johnson was leading a rejuvenated Mackems.

He took them to third place as April rolled around and they looked the favourites for automatic promotion.

However, the Black Cats now haven’t won for five straight matches in League One. As it has done in recent years, promotion is looking an arduous task for Sunderland.

Their 2-2 draw with Hull City on Tuesday evening wasn’t the worst result on paper but a solitary point after three straight defeats is unlikely to do much for their cause.

Callum McFadzean was tortured all night by Mallik Wilks but if we are searching for positives, we need to look no further than Jordan Jones and Lynden Gooch.

Jones has been a revelation since joining on loan in January and after scoring against the Tigers, he now has three goals and four assists in nine starts.

Though, Gooch is now beginning to come to the party too. He can be found guilty of being inconsistent this term but he has stood up when it’s really mattered.

It was the Sunderland academy graduate who scored the crucial goal at Wembley when they ended over 40 years of hurt on the trophy front.

Gooch then stepped up against Hull on Tuesday night. He was a constant thorn in their defence and put in a number of crosses that Black Cats reporter James Hunter described as “dangerous.”

Aiden McGeady has been Sunderland’s chief creator this term on 13 assists but with the Irishman missing in midweek through injury, Gooch took on the mantle excellently.

He claimed the assist for Jones’ opening strike as the winger whipped in a delicious ball that was volleyed home. The £5k-per-week earner then played a pivotal part in winning the penalty that Grant Leadbitter scored from.

Gooch flicked the ball over Callum Elder before the Hull left-back handled the ball and the referee pointed to the spot.

In total, the attacker played three key passes, taking his tally to 36 chances created in League One this season.

The 25-year-old was in menacing form all evening, attempting two dribbles and being fouled a considerable five times. For context, no player was brought down more than Gooch in the entire game.

He came to life at a crucial point in Sunderland’s season but if McGeady is out for longer, they will need even more from him.

The forward needs to continue this type of form if Johnson’s men are to secure promotion to the Championship.

What’s the word?

On Tuesday, the north London outfit were dealt a devastating blow as Daniel Levy’s mooted first-choice option Julian Nagelsmann was confirmed as Bayern Munich’s next manager ahead of the summer.

Just two days ago, 90min revealed that Spurs were prepared to pay the Leicester City boss in excess of the £15m that Jose Mourinho took home each year while at the club.

Rodgers has downplayed reports linking him to the vacant role, claiming that Spurs is a “huge club”, but you’d imagine the money Levy could offer is a rather tempting figure.

According to Dean Windass, who spoke to Football FanCast exclusively this week, “he wouldn’t turn it down” either.

Is he the one?

Levy will undoubtedly be reeling from missing out on Nagelsmann, but he should move on quickly and prepare to launch all he has at the Foxes chief, as he could be the one to turn around their fortunes in N17.

Right now, you could consider Spurs a step down from Leicester. After all, the Midlands side are comfortable in third place, aiming for another crack at the Champions League, whilst the Lilywhites are battling for those places underneath them.

They’ve even won the Premier League more recently than Spurs have won a major trophy, but in this day and age, money plays a big factor and Levy is prepared to pay Rodgers £5m more per year than what he’s currently thought to be earning.

It would be a very wise investment, too.

Rodgers has completely transformed Leicester both on and off the pitch. Every single year they lose their best players to big fees, such as Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City (£60m), Harry Maguire to Manchester United (£80m) and Ben Chilwell to Chelsea (£50m).

Firstly, Spurs have not sold a player for more than £50m since the departure of Kyle Walker in 2017 and he’s the only one since Gareth Bale before that to garner such a huge profit.

Secondly, the Foxes have barely felt the loss of such key players, all thanks to the shrewd recruitment and subsequent coaching of the 48-year-old Northern Irishman. For example, Timothy Castagne cost just £18m and has replaced Chilwell, while Caglar Soyuncu cost only £20m and has replaced Maguire. Both have been seamless transitions.

Among all this adversity, he looks set to guide the Foxes to back-to-back European campaigns and has also managed to keep a win rate of 55.2%, which is hugely impressive.

Furthermore, Rodgers’ development of Kelechi Iheanacho has been game-changing – Windass even called it “unbelievable” when speaking to FFC – not to mention Mourinho’s glowing endorsement of the former Liverpool boss.

“He’s very talented, he was and probably still is a guy who likes to study, learn and improve,” the Portuguese told reporters (via The Argus). “He’s creative, he knows what he wants.”

Iheanacho had looked like a player not ready to fulfil his undoubted potential until this season; now he’s bagged 17 goals in all competitions – a whopping 46% of his career total for the Midlands outfit since joining in the summer of 2017.

When you consider the regression of the likes of Dele Alli and Steven Bergwijn, and the huge potential of youngsters such as Oliver Skipp and Dennis Cirkin, on top of his phenomenal record in the transfer market, then surely Rodgers is a match made in heaven for Levy and Spurs.

He’s the one who can rejuvenate this faltering club.
