Jose Mourinho is targeting Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, though he faces tough competition from Everton who are also after the Jamaica international.

Both clubs are going to be watching the in-demand player during Leverkusen’s Europa League tie with Rangers tonight, according to football.london.

Bailey has previous been linked with a move to the Premier League, specifically with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, who are thought to have moved on now.

According to Die Werkself – a German media outlet, Leverkusen would be willing to sell the 22-year old this summer if a suitable offer is made for him. In the past, Bailey has been valued at around €40m, and has stated that it would be a dream for him if he was to play football in England.

During the 2019-20 Bundesliga season, Bailey made 31 appearances – scoring seven goals and assisting three. He signed from Genk three years ago for £11.5m, and since been proven as an asset for the Germans.

The young star has recently switched to an English agent – Aidy Ward. This means Bailey shares the same agent with Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling.

Both Spurs and Everton are rebuilding their squads in order to compete for Champions League football next campaign, though Spurs look the most likely to sign the Jamaican winger with the attraction of playing in the Europa League.

Bailey would make big Premier League impact

Bailey would be a great addition to both Spurs and Everton. The winger has lots of potential at just 22-years-of-age, and has experienced regular European football, in addition to competing at a high level in the Bundesliga.

The young Jamaican will be the perfect fit for both clubs on the left-hand side as they have equally struggled for finding a week-in-week-out performing winger. With Son Heung-min on the left side for Spurs already, Bailey would be a better fit at Everton, though Son is versatile enough to switch wings or even play as a centre-forward.

وواصل: “من الطبيعي أن يكون تقدم أنسو فاتي ببطء بعد الابتعاد لفترة طويلة، نحن نفتقر إلى اللاعبين المتميزين والسرعة، وإذا كان لدينا ذلك ستتغير الدفاعات وستكون لدينا مساحات”.

وتابع: “نحن نفتقر إلى الفعالية أيضًا، أتذكر في مباراة العام الماضي أتلتيكو خلق فرصًا أقل، لكنه فريق قادر على تسجيل هدف واحد بتسديدة واحدة، ونحن صنعنا أربعة فرصة وسجلنا هدفًا، وهذا أمر يكلفنا بالتأكيد”.

وأردف: “أعتقد أن الفريق سيكون نفسه مع مدرب آخر، ليس لدينا أجنحة، لذا علينا البحث عن الهجوم من خلال الظهيرين، وظيفة المدرب تعتمد على لاعبيه”.

واسترسل: “أعتقد أنه إذا كان لديّ النقود، لكان ميسي لا يزال موجودًا هُنا، وسيكون لديّ لاعبين أقوياء، وأنا أستعد للمباريات بما هو مُتاح، لطالما قلت أن الفريق يفتقد إلى أشياء، إذا استعدنا جميع المهاجمين سيكون لدينا فريق قوي، إلى جانب ذلك سيكون هُناك فرص للشباب”.

On the latest episode of the Phil Hay Show, he said: “One that’s definitely of interest is Michy Batshuayi down at Chelsea. Bielsa knows him from Marseille and he knows a lot about his game. He wouldn’t have to adapt massively. Despite it not happening for him at Chelsea he’s at a prime age, 26. Leeds will want to see progress in the next week or two.”

It’s not the first time that the Belgian has been mooted with a switch to Elland Road with Football Insider claiming he could cost less than £25m earlier this month.

Batshuayi is entering the final year of his contract at Chelsea and has started just one game all season across the Premier League and the Champions League.

Super-sub

Despite having Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham in front of him in the pecking order, a swoop for the 26-year-old would be perfect as Marcelo Bielsa needs a viable back-up to Patrick Bamford – especially with the Jean-Kevin Augustin saga up in the air.

One of the biggest problems surrounding the Yorkshire giants has been their tendency to suffer from burnout, it may have been what caused them to stumble last season and this year’s stop-start campaign, may have helped push them over the line finally.

This can’t happen in the top-fight otherwise they’ll be at risk of becoming a one-season wonder, which is why squad depth is needed. Batshuayi can provide that.

Over the last few seasons, he’s become widely known as the ‘super-sub’ for the Blues, so he’d be perfect for Bielsa to throw on when Bamford is in need of a break.

The Leeds boss helped Batshuayi to break onto the scene in France whilst Frank Lampard believes he’s “top class” and “hard-working”.

Victor Orta must push ahead with this move if United are to truly compete in the top-flight next season.

Craig Hope has revealed how many Newcastle United fans may be allowed in St. James’ Park by the start of October in his latest piece for the Daily Mail.

According to the journalist, it is hoped that significantly more than a third of the 52,000 capacity will be allowed back into the stadium once it is given the approval of the Premier League.

The Tyneside club have also sounded out corporate box holders about returning to the ground on October 3rd, with other teams from the top flight becoming more and more confident that supporters will be allowed back into their stadiums from next month.

Those private boxes will be allowed a capacity of 50 per cent in each room which have been used to house media since the beautiful game returned after being locked down due to the global pandemic outbreak.

The season-ticket holders in the North East may also be put on long-term payment plans in the wider picture to try and get as many fans back in St. James’ park as possible for the new 2020/21 term.

This should come as good news to those members of the Toon Army who are desperate to get back into the stadium to watch their team play and go back to some sort of normality.

Of course, the safety of the NUFC fans remains the top priority, but it will surely come as a much welcomed relief that the supporters may be allowed back into the ground in just over a month’s time.

O lateral-direito Gabriel Proença deixa o Remo com uma avaliação positiva de sua passagem pelo clube. Contratado em julho deste ano para a disputa da Série D do Campeonato Brasileiro, o jogador só lamenta o fato de ter poucas oportunidades para mostrar seu futebol. Porém, ele considera que foi uma boa experiência o período que defendeu o time na campanha que deu o acesso para a Série C.

– Apesar de não ter atuado em muitos jogos, considero como positiva minha passagem pelo Remo. Foi boa a experiência, o clube subiu após sete anos para a Série C, o elenco era bem unido, enfim, consegui colher apenas coisas boas, deu para aprender bastante – disse o jogador, que agradeceu a oportunidade no clube.

– Agradeço a todos pela oportunidade, a diretoria, torcida, os jogadores e o Cacaio (treinador do time). Obrigado e quem sabe lá na frente não reencontro o Remo ou esses profissionais? Seria um prazer – completou Gabriel.

Segundo o lateral, não teve nenhum fator que prejudicou sua passagem no clube. Ele afirma apenas que não teve muitas chances e pretende brigar por mais espaço e pela titularidade no próximo time.

– Não teve nada que não deu certo. Faltaram apenas mais oportunidades para mostrar meu futebol para a torcida remista, mas são coisas que acontecem e fazem parte do futebol. No próximo clube vou lutar e brigar para ser titular – concluiu o jogador.
