According to a report from The Independent, Liverpool have an eye on free-agent Dani Alves as a potential option to provide cover for the first-team, as well as to add valuable experience to the dressing room.

The report also states that the Brazilian’s wages could prove to be a stumbling block in any potential deal, but there is no denying that there are few players of the same pedigree as Alves – he has won 43 trophies throughout his career.

Liverpool are currently struggling for depth at the back after allowing Alberto Moreno to leave, whilst Nathaniel Clyne also looks set to be unable to provide cover at right-back after damaging his knee ligaments.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp has no senior cover for his two full-backs, so signing Alves would make sense in that respect – it would make even more sense considering Liverpool’s long-term plan for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Those inside the Anfield club believe that the 20-year-old  – who notched a staggering 16 assists last term – will evolve from right-back into midfield, a transition which Alves’ arrival could help ease for more than one reason.

The obvious reason is that Alves is primarily a right-back himself, so by using the Brazil international – who was named as the best player at this summer’s Copa America – in the role, Klopp can give Alexander-Arnold experience in the middle of the park if he wanted to.

Another reason is that Alves can also play literally anywhere in midfield – he is the ultimate utility man. The 36-year-old lined up at defensive midfield, central midfield and centre attacking midfield last term for PSG, meaning that his vast knowledge of the midfield role in general could be of benefit to Alexander-Arnold.

Both players possess excellent technical ability and are just pure, natural footballers which seems as if it would be able to assist them in any role on the pitch – Alves even appeared in goal for PSG last season.

Alves’ arrival at Anfield would massively benefit Alexander-Arnold over anybody else at the club, given their similarities as players and the Brazilian’s expertise at playing a role that Liverpool’s academy is seemingly destined to move into.

Filip Helander started the 1-0 win over Derby County this weekend, and Rangers fans have had their say on his display after a quiet afternoon.

The Swede made his first start for the Gers in Sunday’s win over English Championship side Derby, playing for just over an hour.

The central defender had previously made his debut, playing half an hour against Blackburn in a 1-1 draw.

And he had a comfortable afternoon, leading to the Ibrox faithful being slightly reserved in their judgement of his full debut.

Brought in from Bologna, his first start came in a game where he and Nikola Katic’s busiest spells were in Derby’s box, not Rangers’, as both towering centre-backs looked a threat at set pieces.

The former Malmo defender arrived at the club this summer for a fee of £3.5m, a fee big enough that you would expect him to nail down a starting place once the season really kicks into gear.

Yesterday’s match against Phillip Cocu’s men was a defender’s dream though, with the Evening Times even reporting that: “Derby struggled to create anything of note.”

وأبدى أكثر من نادِ بضم ديفيد ألابا في الميركاتو الصيفي القادم، مثل ريال مدريد وليفربول وتشيلسي وغيرهم.

وحسب صحيفة “تليجراف” الإنجليزية، فإن ديفيد ألابا وضع شرطًا للموافقة على الرحيل عن بايرن ميونخ إلى تشيلسي في فترة الانتقالات الشتوية القادمة.

وأوضحت أن شرط ألابا تمثل في الحصول على راتب أسبوعي قدره 400 ألف جنيه إسترليني، من أجل الانضمام إلى كتيبة توماس توخيل.

هذا الأمر يعني أن ألابا سيكون اللاعب الأعلى أجرًا في تشيلسي حال إتمام الصفقة، حيث سيتجاوز لاعب الوسط الفرنسي نجولو كانتي، الذي يظفر بـ295 ألف جنيه إسترليني أسبوعيًا.

وأفادت إنه من غير المرجح موافقة مسؤولي تشيلسي على مطالب ألابا.

A selection of West Ham United fans have had their say on Tottenham Hotspur’s potential move for Paulo Dybala in the latter stages of the transfer window.

According to The Independent, Juventus are willing to sell Dybala to Mauricio Pochettino’s side before the window slams shut.

There is certainly no love lost between West Ham and Tottenham, and a number of the former’s fans have been commenting on the Dybala situation.

One Hammers supporter claimed that the Argentina international’s arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could make Spurs contenders for the Premier League title, which was followed up by an Irons fan dubbing the club’s ambition “incredible”.

Another insisted that a title race is not on the cards, however, with a couple of fans claiming that Christian Eriksen is actually better than the Juve attacker.

Wolves have one foot already in the next round of the Europa League unless Armenian outfit Pyunik pull off one of the shocks of the century at Molineux tonight.

Nuno Santo’s side carry a four-goal advantage into what is their fourth Europa League fixture of the season having only played once so far in the Premier League – a 0-0 stalemate at Leicester City on Sunday.

Wolves could face Italian outfit Torino in a final playoff tie to determine who reaches the group stage and the Portuguese boss has remained coy on his possible team selection ahead of the second leg, saying:

With so many matches on the horizon, Santo may rotate his squad slightly whilst ensuring there’s no complacency creeping in with the side four goals to the good.

A number of the team’s influential players should keep their squad place – the likes of captain Conor Coady, Ruben Neves and Rui Patricio will ensure that no one’s getting ahead of themselves.

There could be a surprise inclusion for youngster Max Kilman. The 22-year-old has played just one minute of competitive football at Molineux, but this summer Santo has been training him in Coady’s role so he could be ready for a start.

Adama Traore doesn’t need his passport today so there’s no excuses for him not to start on the right whilst Ruben Vinagre could continue on the other side at left wing-back.

In midfield, Roman Saiss could play there again just like he did in the first leg of the tie with Morgan Gibbs-White being gifted the chance to sit behind the two strikers. Neves is yet to play a full game so he should be fresher than most for this home fixture.

Santo has called on his squad to be more clinical following their 0-0 draw in the Premier League so Raul Jimenez may keep his spot, whilst Patrick Cutrone is in line for his full debut after a pair of substitute appearances.

وأردف: “انتقلت إلى الداخلية مع علاء عبد العال الذي صعدني للفريق الأول وأعطاني الثقة، وكان هدفي العودة للزمالك، وكنت حزينًا جدًا عندما رحلت عنه، وكنت أبكي عندما أمر بجانب سور النادي”.

وأضاف: “عندما طلب الزمالك عودتي بكيت، لأنني شعرت بقيمتي واسترديت كرامتي”.

وتابع: “أحمد سليمان هو من اتصل بي من أجل العودة للزمالك ولم أتأخر، وقال لي إنني لاعب جيد ومرتضى منصور يريدك أن تعود، ولم أبد أي اعتراض والجلسة لم تستغرق 15 دقيقة”.

وأشار: “اتصلت بإسماعيل يوسف مدير الكرة وأخبرني أنني سأخرج للإعارة، وقلت له لماذا أنا لا أريد الرحيل، أنا كنت أمتلك عرضًا من الدوري الألماني وفضلت الزمالك قبل توقيعي، ولكني رحلت على سبيل الإعارة إلى الإسماعيلي”.

واسترسل: “بعد الإعارة كان من الطبيعي أن أعود للزمالك بعد تألقي، ولكن دخلت في صفقة تبادلية مع محمد مجدي لاعب المصري، ولم أكن أريد ذلك”.

وتابع: “كنت حزينًا لأنني لا أستحق ذلك، وانتقلت إلى المصري رغما عني ونفسيتي كانت سيئة، وحسام حسن أبعدني عن المشاركة، وبعد انتهاء إعارتي (فاض بي) وقلت لمسؤولي الزمالك أريد بيعي”.
