Revealed: 83% of Rangers fans want shock Gayle swoop

Loads of Rangers fans have been discussing a shock move for Dwight Gayle, and a whopping 83 per cent of fans want a loan swoop for the striker.

Rangers have had an excellent start to life under Steven Gerrard, but they are still missing that clinical number nine to push them to the next level.

Gerrard has led some excellent business this summer, but the recent bid for Kyle Lafferty shows he is well aware that Alfredo Morelos cannot carry the goalscoring load alone.

One man who could be available is Dwight Gayle, as the Englishman will likely leave in search of regular playing time if Newcastle sign Salomon Rondon.

The Tyneside club have already signed Mainz striker Yoshinori Muto, and The Chronicle claims they are once again in talks for Rondon.

If Rondon does join Muto, Gayle will likely leave to a club where he can be the main man, and while the Gers don’t have the cash to fund an outright move, they could certainly try their luck with a loan bid.

The overwhelming majority of fans think this is a good idea, and they’re backing a swoop for the man who scored 23 Championship goals in the 2016-17 season.

Tammy Abraham should be the man to take Aston Villa to the Premier League

It’s been a turbulent summer transfer window for Aston Villa.

Villa made the headlines for all the wrong reasons this summer. The Villains were crippled with debt after losing in the play-off final against Fulham. Luckily for them, Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris and American billionaire Wes Edens purchased a controlling stake in the club to save them from financial ruin.

As a result of the lack of finances, Steve Bruce was unable to significantly strengthen his squad ahead of another push for promotion. Villa spent just £5m on transfers to bring John McGinn and Orjan Nyland to Villa Park. Despite the transfer window closing, EFL clubs can still sign players on loan.

Therefore, Villa should look to sign Chelsea outcast – Tammy Abraham. Valued at £9m by Transfermarkt, the youngster has been shipped out on loan in recent years after progressing through the Chelsea Academy. The 20-year-old spent last season with Swansea, scoring five goals in 31 Premier League appearances.

His best form came in the Championship with Bristol City in 2016/17. Abraham bagged an incredible 23 goals in the division; only Chris Wood netted more with 27. Bringing the English forward to Villa Park would improve their chances of returning to the Premier League.

A year of Premier League football will have definitely improved the youngster as a player and a return to the Championship could be perfect for his development. With Jack Grealish staying at the club, Villa would have an attack capable of firing them to promotion.

Loads of Tottenham fans have been reacting to a transfer rumour that would send shockwaves through the club, as reports claim Real Madrid want Christian Eriksen. The transfer window slammed shut for Premier League teams on Thursday afternoon, and Tottenham fans are understandably unhappy with their summer business. The club was expected to complete a deal for Jack Grealish at the very least, but after Aston Villa shut the door on a deal there seemed to be no back-up plan.[brid autoplay=”true” video=”275402″ player=”12034″ title=”Should Spurs Fans Be Concerned By Lack Of Transfers”]To add insult to injury, Real Madrid want to replace the ageing Luka Modric by signing Eriksen, according to The Mirror. The report says Madrid know Spurs will not sell the Danish ace this summer, but as he hits his prime he will be desperate to add some trophies to his resume, and they could make a swoop in the near future. After a disappointing transfer window, losing Eriksen at any point over the next 12 months or so would be a complete and utter disaster, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…

Celtic fans on Twitter are excited by Arzani’s huge potential

Celtic announced the signing of new Manchester City winger and Australian international Daniel Arzani on a two-year loan deal on Friday, and Bhoys fans on Twitter were excited by his potential.

City completed the signing of the 19-year-old on August 9 (deadline day for English clubs this year) from their sister side Melbourne City FC and have immediately sent the talented youngster to Glasgow to further his development.

Iranian-born Arzani was the youngest player at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, at just 15 days younger than Kylian Mbappe. The Socceroos star made three substitute appearances as Australia were knocked out in the group stage.

The current Premier League champions have built somewhat of a relationship with Celtic in recent years following the successful loan spells of Patrick Roberts and Jason Denayer north of the border. Check out some of the best tweets from Celtic fans in reaction to the news about Arzani below.

Celtic can’t allow someone else to sign Liverpool’s Sheyi Ojo

Celtic got their season back on track with a 3-1 win away at Patrick Thistle at the weekend.

The Hoops were knocked out of the Champions League by AEK Athens meaning they will not feature in the group stage for the first time in four years. By failing to qualify, they have missed out on a huge prize pot that could have funded their summer transfer business. Celtic fans will be glad to see their side return to winning ways against Patrick Thistle thanks to goals from Leigh Griffiths, Moussa Dembele and Tom Rogic.

Celtic will now enter the Europa League play-off round alongside rivals Rangers. Steven Gerrard has added a whole host of players to his squad this summer so retaining the Scottish Premiership title will be harder than ever. The Hoops still have until the end of August to add to their team.

One man they should sign is Liverpool winger – Sheyi Ojo. Valued at £2.25m by Transfermarkt, the winger joined Liverpool at the age of 14 and quickly progressed through their youth setup earning a reputation as one of their hottest prospects. With his route to the first team blocked by Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, Ojo was loaned to Fulham last season where he scored four and assisted two in helping the Cottagers return to the Premier League.

Following the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri, Ojo is once again set to leave the club on loan with reports suggesting that Aston Villa are interested in his services. Celtic should look to hijack their move and bring the youngster to Celtic Park.

Ojo is a fast, powerful winger who would cause nightmares for defenders in the SPFL. He is comfortable on either wing and would add another dimension to their attack. Rodgers has worked with the youngster before during his spell at Liverpool and knows exactly what he would add to the team.

If he can replicate the form he showed at Fulham, he would be an excellent signing.

West Ham fans blast Javier Hernandez

West Ham United booked their spot in the third round of the EFL Cup with a 3-1 win at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night.

Joe Pigott actually headed Wimbledon ahead against the Premier League outfit, but Issa Diop levelled the scores in the 63rd minute.

Angelo Ogbonna then scored West Ham’s second in the 83rd minute, before Javier Hernandez ensured that the Hammers would progress with a stoppage-time effort.

It was far from a vintage performance from West Ham, but the Premier League outfit did progress as Manuel Pellegrini tasted his first success since arriving as head coach.

Hernandez might have scored West Ham’s third of the match in the latter stages, but it would be fair to say that the club’s supporters were not pleased with his performance.

Indeed, the 5ft 9in Mexican missed a host of chances before eventually finding the back of the net, and the West Ham fans took to Twitter to blast the former Manchester United striker, who was linked with a move away in the summer.

Leeds United are going to win promotion this season, and it will be down to this man

Leeds United continued their excellent start to the Championship season this weekend as they ground out a 0-0 draw with a well drilled Middlesbrough side.

The Whites look to finally be on their way back to winning ways, and under manager Marcelo Bielsa, look like being serious contenders to win promotion to the top flight, despite it being early days in the campaign.

With a Leeds team playing some exciting football, and the fans back on side, there are many reasons to believe why the club are going back to the top flight, but one of the main reasons will be the form and ability of attacking midfielder Samu Saiz.

The Spaniard has been in scintillating form this term already, and has become a key man for the Whites under Bielsa.

He showed glimpses last season, but was let down by discipline problems which cost him valuable time on the field, but this term he seems to have returned with a fresh appetite to perform in the Championship.

One of few players in the second tier who can control a game and provide the bit of magic needed to win it if needed, Saiz is going to be vital to any success Leeds have during the campaign.

If they can indeed maintain their form, then along with the form of fellow Spaniard Pablo Hernandez, Saiz could well prove to be the key man for the Whites and write his name in the history books as a Leeds great if he can continue his form over the course of a number of seasons.

Leeds fans, what do you think of Saiz? Class act? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Liverpool fans back Alisson after Leicester display

Loads of Liverpool fans have been giving their verdict on the 2-1 win at Leicester, and they’re not at all bothered by Alisson Becker’s horror show.

It’s now been a decade since the Reds had a reliable goalkeeper, and Alisson gave Liverpool fans a right scare in Saturday’s win at Leicester.

The Brazilian stopper wowed fans at Anfield with a cheeky bit of skill last week, but his attempts to do the same thing at the King Power Stadium backfired, when Kelechi Iheanacho robbed him of possession and set up Rachid Ghezzal.

Fans don’t seem too concerned though, perhaps down to the Reds hanging on for three points, or possibly just down to how well their new number one has played thus far.

[brid autoplay=”true” video=”285457″ player=”12034″ title=”Rafa’s Pub Facts Theatre Of Screams & The Serb As Good As Salah”]

The 25 year-old has conceded just one goal in four Premier League matches, and he made a smart save to deny Demarai Gray in the first half on Saturday.

Fans will of course be holding their collective breath next time he tries to dribble past a player, but the overwhelming feeling is one of optimism, rather than the total meltdown that may have been the case had Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius made the same error.

Revealed: 79% of Celtic fans want the club to sign free-agent Lacina Traore

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers sanctioned the £19.7m sale of striker Moussa Dembele to French side Lyon on deadline day this summer, but the Bhoys are now left with just three senior strikers and the Northern Irish boss may feel the need to bring in an extra option on a free transfer.

There is no doubt that Dembele will be difficult to replace, after the 22-year-old netted 51 times in 94 appearances for the Hoops since arriving from Fulham in the summer of 2016, but the majority of Celtic fans that voted in our poll were keen to see former Everton and Monaco man Lacina Traore offered a deal.

The 6ft 8in target man is a giant and would offer Rodgers a totally different option to that of Leigh Griffiths or youngsters Odsonne Edouard and Michael Johnston. He also has a decent scoring record, with 11 goals in 35 matches for Monaco and 75 in 231 total career appearances.

The Ivory Coast international is available on a free after leaving Monaco and 79% of Celtic fans polled wanted him at Parkhead. Check out the full results below.

Revealed: Majority of Rangers fans want Davis return

Rangers were not exactly quiet in the summer transfer window as manager Steven Gerrard brought in 15 new signings.

The former Liverpool captain has had a major job to do as it is the first time that he has taken on a high-profile management role since retiring from professional football.

So far, the Scottish outfit have lost just one of their 13 matches in all competitions, but they have picked up a single victory in the Premiership.

With the January transfer window being the next opportunity for clubs to recruit new players, there is one man that might attract Rangers’ attention.

Southampton midfielder Steven Davis has dropped down the pecking order at St Mary’s having made just one appearance so far.

The Northern Ireland international is already familiar with Rangers having played for the club between 2008 and 2012.
