Se o técnico Tiago Nunes ainda encontra dificuldades para acertar uma equipe que funcione neste Campeonato Brasileiro, pelo menos uma coisa ele pode confiar: no poder de fogo de Jô. Desde que reestreou no Timão, diante do Red Bull Bragantino (deixando sua marca), pelas quartas de final do Paulistão, o atacante fez 11 jogos e marcou cinco gols, praticamente um a cada dois jogos.

Esse início já é melhor do que aquele em 2017, quando brilhou pelo Corinthians conquistando dois títulos. Nos primeiros 11 duelos oficiais daquele ano, Jô havia marcado quatro gols. Foram nove partidas como titular (três delas até o final), e duas como reserva, sendo que em uma delas anotou tento decisivo diante do Palmeiras, quando entrou aos 42 minutos da segundo etapa.

Mas a melhora em relação ao ano de 2017 não fica apenas nesse recorte de 11 jogos, já que a média de gols estabelecida por Jô em 2020 é maior do que a registrada em sua segunda passagem. Nesta temporada são cinco gols em 11 jogos, média de 0,45 por duelo, enquanto na vitoriosa temporada de 2017 foram 25 tentos em 61 partidas, média de 0,41 por confronto.

Em comparação com a sua primeira passagem, entre 2003 e 2005, quando foi promovido das categorias de base do clube, Jô também tem números melhores em 2020. Naquele momento, quando tinha entre 16 e 18 anos, o centroavante atuou em 110 jogos pelo Corinthians e marcou 18 gols, média de 0,16 por partida, praticamente três vezes menor do que a atual, que é de 0,45 por jogo.

Somando essas três passagens, Jô tem 182 jogos oficiais pelo clube e 48 gols marcados, ou seja, muito próximo de atingir a marca de 50 tentos com a camisa alvinegra. E o próximo adversário, o Palmeiras, é um velho conhecido do camisa 77, contra o qual já marcou quatro vezes em oito partidas, inclusive no último encontro, na final do Paulistão, levando a decisão para os pênaltis.

Na próxima quinta-feira, na Neo Química Arena, o Corinthians enfrenta seu maior rival, às 19h15, pela nona rodada do Brasileirão-2020. Com Jô garantido no ataque, Tiago Nunes tem a esperança de que seu centroavante titular possa ajudar o Timão a conquistar pela primeira vez uma sequência de vitórias na competição, algo que o treinador tem buscado para deslanchar na tabela.

وقال: “الفريق يعاني كثيرًا بسبب غياب بعض اللاعبين الأساسيين خاصة في خط الهجوم، ولكن برغم هذا العائق نجحنا في الفوز”.

وأضاف: “نتيجة مباراة اليوم ملغومة، ولكن يجب تهنئة اللاعبين بعد تحقيق الفوز على فريق كبير اسمه الزمالك بعد مجهود كبير”.

واستكمل: “كما أننا أهدرنا الفوز بفارق أكثر من هدفين في الشوط الأول الذي انتهى بنتيجة 2-0”.

وأتم: “هذه مباراة نهائي، قلنا من قبلها أنها لن تكون سهلة، هي مباراة شوط أول في المغرب وما زال هناك شوط ثاني في مصر”.

ومن المقرر أن تقام مباراة الإياب لنهائي كأس الكونفدرالية بين الزمالك ونهضة بركان على استاد القاهرة الدولي يوم 19 مايو الجاري.

Jurgen Klopp's priority is signing at least one new midfielder, with just over a week left to get deals over the line, and ESPN report an offer has recently been made for Fluminense defensive midfielder Andre, but the bid was knocked back immediately.

The likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram have been named as potential options by journalist Rudy Galetti, but there are plenty of others, with talks also being held over Cheick Doucoure and Kalvin Phillips.

While signing a new midfielder is of the utmost importance to the Reds, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has previously made it clear that a new centre-back will also be targeted, with Football Insider now offering a new update on their pursuit of Schuurs.

According to their sources, Liverpool have now set their sights on signing the Torino defender, following a recent scouting mission, and he is seen as a realistically-priced option to sign before this summer's deadline, with the Italian club set to hold out for around £30m.

That would work perfectly for Klopp's side, as they already have a budget set aside for the centre-back, but it is lower than what they are willing to fork out for a central midfielder.

Klopp is eager to bring in cover and competition for Virgil van Dijk, while he also wants to refresh his centre-back options for the first time since Ibrahima Konate arrived at Anfield.

There may be no better player to provide competition for Van Dijk, as the Reds captain is "well aware" of his compatriot's talents and is said to be a "big fan".

How good is Perr Schuurs?

Not only has the 23-year-old impressed his potential future teammate, but he has also received praise from journalist Dean Jones, with the reporter telling FootballFancast:

"Schuurs is a big talent. He's got a great ability to read the game, so no surprise at all that he's been on the radar of the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool – he has a profile that fits those sides well."

As well as being able to read the game very well, the Dutchman is a solid tackler, ranking in the 80th percentile for tackles per 90 over the past year, when compared to his positional peers, and he has been a key player for Torino since arriving from Ajax.

The 6 foot 3 defender has adapted to life in the Serie A very well, making 30 league appearances last season, indicating he could now be ready to make another step-up by moving to the Premier League, with Liverpool waiting in the wings.

Klopp is well-stocked at centre-back, with five players who play in that position already at the club, so Schuurs should not be a priority target for Liverpool, but he could be worth pursuing once they get a deal for at least one new midfielder over the line.

We believe having Indian players in the league could open up a huge market for us.”CSA has been in close contact with the BCCI since Nenzani and acting CEO Thabang Moroe made a trip to India in mid-November, which was aimed at “improving relations,” between the two boards, something Nenzani described as an “ongoing project,” and a “necessity”.While the two boards enjoyed a strong relationship since South Africa’s readmission in 1991, it soured in 2013, when CSA appointed Haroon Lorgat, with whom the BCCI had disagreements with during his tenure as the ICC CEO, as their CEO and India subsequently shortened a tour to South Africa. That may change if an Indian broadcaster, lured by Indian players, could come into contention.Asked whether CSA considered these things when initially planning the Global T20 League, Moroe, who was vice-president when Lorgat was CEO, and Nenzani admitted the board “trusted management,” to put the tournament together. It was only in June, when the board was not receiving satisfactory updates on the progression of the Global T20 League planning, that it chose to intervene. When comparing Felix's output with Buendia's last season, he could even be an upgrade on the Villa ace with the Portugal international outperforming his position competitor in several key attributes including goal contributions (11 v 7), shots on target rate (38.9% v 22.4%), shot-creating actions per 90 (3.39 v 3.36) and aerial duels won (31.3% v 29.9%).

With that being said, it would be a no-brainer for Aston Villa to seal a deal for Felix on deadline day as he could be exactly what Emery needs to ensure his team can compete across all competitions this season and would add the much-needed spark of creativity in the absence of Buendia.

Os empresários de Luís Henrique, que moram no Rio Grande do Sul, vão ao Rio de Janeiro ainda nesta semana para conversarem pessoalmente com a diretoria do Botafogo sobre o futuro do atacante. A venda, apesar do TAC ter a maior parte dos direitos federativos do atleta, precisa ter um consenso.
